Whenever I hear someone speaking in any language foreign to me (which, embarrassingly enough, is every single language on Earth except English), it always sounds like they are talking at a rate of about one thousand miles a minute.  Maybe two.  I mean, SuperFast.  Evelyn Wood Speed Talkers. 

Is it just me or does it seem that way to everyone?  And do I sound that way to non-English speaking peeps?  And will I never learn to stop starting sentences with the word ‘And’?

Just too damn funny!

We love love love our breadmaker.  We have even fine tuned a recipe to be Just As We Like It™ and often enjoy it simply toasted with a little butter or perhaps with a little cheese spread upon it.  It’s great dipped in soups and chilis.  A nice piece set up next to a big plate of spaghetti is perfectly awesome.  And the breadmaker?  Well, it never fails.  Never.  Never ever.

Until now.

For the love of all that is holy, would you look at this thing??!!  I accidently left the curtains open when I took it out of the machine and I could hear neighborhood children crying and dogs wailing and grown men gnashing their teeth.  It was not pretty!  I’m not even sure what happened but I think I’m going to blame the yeast.  Or maybe the flour.  Perhaps the bran.

Actually, I’m pretty sure that it was Satan.

Or Voldemort.

Leave it to my best ol’ pal, Jim, to remind me that today is both an Eye Candy Friday™ AND Drew Barrymore’s birthday (1975).  Well, in honor of Jim and Drew, this week is All Drew All The Time.  So let’s get the Drew ball a-rollin’.  Here we go....

Ok, this whole “blowing a spy satellite out of the sky with a missile even though it costs a gajillion dollars” story is just too juicy to not come up with some conspiracy theories, isn’t it?  We’ve been chatting it up at work this morning and have come with a couple of options.

1) We (the U.S. of A.) didn’t really care where the damn thing landed, but we couldn’t afford to risk another axis of evil-doing country finding it and seeing what we’ve been up to.  We may have been acting a little naughty/illegal.
2) We (the U.S. of A.) didn’t really care where the damn thing landed, but we wanted to take advantage of the situation and do a little sword-rattling.  In other words, it doesn’t matter what you send at us, evil-doers, we can shoot it out of the sky just. Like. That.  So HAH!
3) We (the U.S. of A.) didn’t really care where the damn thing landed, but shooting a satellite out of the sky is just serious, serious fun!  We don’t care how much it costs!  Whoopeee!!

This morning, in an email to several distribution groups at work, instead of typing “I will run it manually”, I typed “I will rub it manually”.  I can’t stop giggling.

Yes.  I am 13 and a half years old. 

Of the people by the people and for the people!  Well, except for you.  Oh and you.  What a country!

Once again, we hold a primary election (Florida) that doesn’t count.  Can someone explain to me how it can be legal to tell all of the Americans(D) in the great state of Florida that they can vote but that their vote doesn’t count for beans because some government agency is mad at some other government agency for violating some obscure (I don’t know that for sure, actually) political rule?  What happened to “every voice counts”?  Doesn’t this seem, like, really illegal? 

Sort of like the electoral college but that’s a rant for another day.
