Back to work, ya bum!

Well, vacation is over. Man, that went fast! And while I did bitch a bit about the Massachusetts drivers, I wanted to also tell you about a new place that we fell in love with. New Hampshire.

New Hampshire has just got to be one of the most beautiful places that I've ever seen! And the area that we were in (right around Mount Washington) just never seemed to let up on the beauty. Every time you turned around it was "Yep, that's beautiful." "Uh huh, that's beautiful, too". "Yes yes, you're very beautiful!! We get it already! Sheesh!!"

And as long as I'm talking about it, I'd like to put in a plug for a fantastic little B&B. Now understand, I really am not to keen on Bed and Breakfastes's. I'm a-ok with the 'bed' part, it's the 'and breakfast' part that weirds me out a little. But I just fell in love with this place. It's called 'The Inn at Crystal Lake' and it is in Eaton Center, New Hampshire. If you get a chance, go. Seriously.

Meanwhile, I took a quick peek at all of the work emails waiting for me upon my returm and I think that I might have thrown up in my mouth a little. I have a bad feeling about this day. Ugh!

I hope you all had a nice Memorial Day weekend and feel all full of vim and vigor heading back into your work week. It's tough, I suppose, but someone's gotta do it, right? Happy Tuesday, kids.

(Your future destination?)

Hey, did you see Bob Newhart and Mary Frann while you were up there? Oh, wait, that was Vermont. Never mind ! !

Crystal Lake...hmm..conjures up thoughts of scary music and large hockey masked men.

Just kidding! That place looks gorgeous! Have a good Tuesday that feels like a Monday!

Tuesdays after a Monday holiday are always rough! Good luck with your day!

I've never been to NH but it does look beautiful!! Really ;-)

Oh, that place looks nice. I need a vacation!

Happy Tuesday! Happy Short Week!

You got your vim in my vigor

Funny you should mention that about the "and breakfast" part. I had the same problem when my wife and I went. I don't like strangers in the first place but I especially don't like them first thing in the morning!

NH is fantastic. I love the Lake Winnepesauki area myself, and Antrim, too. I believe Concord, NH was on the list of one of the most "liveable" places in the US. The state always appears on those quality of life lists. Politically they are soooo many light years ahead of other states (especially tax-wise).

Did you run into my friend Jim there? He was there this weekend too.

Glad to hear you had a nice time...once you managed to survive the psychotic drivers!

I hope your day doesn't turn out as scary as it sounds by all of the work emails waiting for you!

Have a good one!

MA Drivers will NOT make eye contact, I think they view it as a sign of weakness. CT drivers like to drive in the left lane on the interstate and by far the scariest drivers I've met in New England are those from Montreal..you can tell becasue they drive the shortest distance between two points IS a straight line and it really doesn't matter whether there is a lane or even a road there. Glad you are back safely and the next time you want to go to NH try the Philbrook Farm Inn in Shelburne, NH (http://www.philbrookfarminn.com/)
