Sometimes the news can be just so....UGH! Here, for example, are some popular news stories that I just don't care about and wish would go away.
1. Texas Lawmakers trying to cut back on cheerleaders "overtly sexually suggestive" routines at football games. I can't wait to see them define that! Next!
2. Runaway Bride. This one is really getting on my last nerve. Let's see, missing jogger? Scary, important and interesting. Bride with cold feet? Worthy of ONE article then forgotten. Next!
3. Paris Hilton. Next!
4. Sports figures taking steroids. This should be a no-brainer. These guys are cheating. They should be out. Zero tolerance unless the rules are changed. You can keep Rose out of the hall of fame for breaking the rules but (effectively) let others in while they break the rules? Give me a break. Next!
5. Anything having to do with Britney Spears pregnancy. Please shoot me now! Like, totally next!!
There are more but just jotting these five down got me all bugged so I'll just let it go at that. How about you? Any news bugging you lately?
Posted by Buzz at May 5, 2005 04:29 PMThat runaway bride is getting on my nerves. They just had a press conference!
And the Michael Jackson trial. They have convicted serial killers in less time.
Posted by: cassie-b at May 5, 2005 04:40 PMAmerican Idol/Paula Abdul/sleazy-ass contestant I don't care one way or another!
Posted by: fran at May 5, 2005 04:57 PMI have to go with Fran. Paul Abdul has probably slept with half the AI contestants and I really don't care.
And Jackson. His trial daily news as it is. I don't care if he's about to lose the Beatles catalouge. Are we supposed to feel sorry for him???
Posted by: groovebunny at May 5, 2005 05:17 PMThe Lynndie England trial down at Fort Hood...she's guilty, but now we're supposed to feel sorry for her. Um...no!
Posted by: Stacy at May 5, 2005 06:01 PMTHANK YOU! If I hear ONE more thing about BS's pregnancy I'm going to lose it! Who the hell cares? She's young, she's a newlywed, her hubby's very fertile...she's gonna get pregnant!
Grrrrr!
I would have to agree with you. Certain stories should have an expiration date, like milk. After that, they are gone.
Great site. Love the theme.
Posted by: The Complimenting Commenter at May 5, 2005 06:09 PMALL OF IT!!! It's all getting on my nerves. Any story that is in the news for more than 2 days just needs to disappear. Buh-bye!

Posted by: lucy at May 5, 2005 06:19 PMi just dont watch/listen/read the news.
Posted by: Alicia at May 5, 2005 08:22 PMThat poor woman in India breastfeeding a monkey she thinks is her son- and I don't want to see another picture of it, either. Thank you.
Posted by: vicki at May 5, 2005 08:43 PMI vote for your whole list; and I would say forget anything about Britney Spears, not just her pregnancy. I will never understand why she is followed by so many people.
Posted by: kenju at May 5, 2005 10:29 PMThis, my friends, is why I don't read the news, open many forwarded emails or bother to check out the headlines on the web.
Ignorance really is bliss sometimes.
Posted by: Kris at May 5, 2005 11:02 PMAnybody famous dating anybody - don't care!
Posted by: JJJJB at May 6, 2005 07:29 AMHow about the mayor or school principal who wouldnt let a MARCHING BAND perform the Kingsmen's song "Louie Louie" cause its obscene. HELLO? Its a marching band! NO ONE is going to actually sing the lyrics!
Posted by: T at May 7, 2005 05:01 PMAmen. And anything about the Michael Jackson trial. I don't really care about the outcome anymore, even though I think he is a pervert.
