Can I get one with The Incredibles painted on the side?

I pulled into work today and parked next to a great big lunchbox on wheels. I don't know what it is, but I laugh every time I see one of these.

Oh man, I think they are kinda neat.

Sorry, SB!

Hey I need one of those!!!!!!!

it's a Scion! they have a sportier car-ish version too, and their thing is that they're highly customizable and very reasonably priced.

but they do very much look like a lunchbox on wheels.

It's cute! Did it have MATCHBOX written on it?

Posted by: Nanc' at May 4, 2005 10:19 AM

I want scooby doo on mine.

Posted by: theMike at May 4, 2005 10:20 AM

That's like every time I see a PT Cruiser, I think it's a hearse.

Why oh why can't they create something that looks cool? That someone would actually WANT to own? (I'm partial to a spidery looking thing with claws and... Oh... Um... Nevermind)

I never understood why anyone would pay money to drive one of those things. Then again it's a Toyota (well, Scion but owned by Toyota) so at least it's reliable. Can't fault someone for that. =)

Those are as bad as the Honda that looks just like it, I'm drawing a blank on the name right now and don't feel like searching.

I always thought toolbox on wheels...but, I think I like your analogy better!

Mine would have to have BARBIE on it though! LOL!

Posted by: Wendi at May 4, 2005 12:09 PM

I do too, seriously a butt-ugly car! Whatever that one is, and the Honda one. UGH. LOL!

Posted by: Karen at May 4, 2005 12:37 PM

I've always said they looked like a happy meal on wheels.

be careful... you might be making fun of Buddha's next car... you know how he LOVES to bounce around in the next "coolest" thing.... (bawh bawh lol)

.....I wonder what gerbilpower the engine is.

Posted by: Lee at May 4, 2005 01:38 PM

they are disgusting.

I saw something like that the other day- except it wasn't a Scion- it was a Mercedes G500. Why spend $16k on an ugly silver box when you can spend $76k instead and get a MERCEDES Ugly Silver Box?

i love the scion. i drive one sometimes thru pcs and it is PLUSH.

Posted by: sarah at May 4, 2005 03:36 PM

What were they thinking?

Posted by: cassie-b at May 4, 2005 03:59 PM

i used to make fun of the Scion until i got to sit in one at the SF car show last fall. for a little lunchbox on wheels they have a ton of space inside and are very comfortable. if i was in the market for a new car i'd actually consider buying one.

I saw one with one of those magnets on the back. And it made me hate it even more.

Posted by: MIKE at May 4, 2005 04:25 PM

The Honda is called an "Element". Say there Buzz, did you happen to notice the big smiley-face on the back wheel ? And you gotta love the utility of the thing. Lots of room inside, and doesn't take up a lotta space outside. It can probably fit into a lot of parking spaces that soem less roomy cars can't.

It is a lunchbox on wheels. My wife wants a Honda Element. They are kind of funky looking. I don't know whether I could buy one and keep a straight face.

Posted by: ken at May 4, 2005 07:23 PM

looks like a kid drew it.

My dh and I are huge car buffs. I love cars that have a distinctive style and are very noticable. That said, I HATE this car. I think it looks like the "cars" I used to make out of big cardboard boxes. U. G. L. Y.

I just call it a box on wheels. Lunch box, crayon box, Happy Meal box, cardboard box.... makes no difference. It has vertices and faces and there are definite straight lines there. You could probably tear a piece of paper in half easily and neatly using the top edge of that box (like you'd use the edge of a table or counter).

Fugly. 'nuff said.

Posted by: ironic1 at May 4, 2005 11:37 PM

OOOHHH my son would call it his car if it had the Incredibles on it!

Posted by: Hula Doula at May 5, 2005 02:29 PM

We call the lunchboxes too! So hideous.
