I'd rather be....

Alright! Who's brilliant idea was it for me to have to go to work so often? This getting up early and tromping off to work business is for the birds, I tell ya! Dagnabit, I don't wanna go! If I didn't have to go in every day, just think of the things that I could do instead! Things like:

Go fishing
Take up whittling
Sit around and stare into space
Learn to knit
Train my cat to fetch
Call tobacco shops and ask if they have Prince Albert in a can
Be shocked and appalled when someone tells me what a "Prince Albert" is
Cruise around town
People watch at the mall
Read 'War and Peace'
Get my holiday shopping done early
Write a children's book
Learn the art of glassblowing
Watch my grass grow
Read blogs

And so on. But NO! I hafta get up and march my dead ass into work. Again. Man, what a drag!

How about you? What would you rather do than go to work?

I think everybody thinks about this, Buzzie.
Work out everyday.
Cook the right things instead of what's easiest or fastest.
Learn to surf.
Ride more roller coasters.
Read books (any books)
Get back into a rotisserie baseball league
Hang out with my Dad more often
Start my own blog
Travel with and just do with my kids.
Attend HHH parties.
Take better care of my lawn, house, car, etc.
Etc, etc, etc.

I think I would rather do just about anything rather than go to work, well, maybe not the whittling though..

Lay by the pool
Stay in bed with D all day
Read a book
Write a book
Surf the Net
Clean my house really well
Absolutely positively nothing

Hmmm... ok, I can play this game.

Sleep.
Teach myself a new language.
Teach Elizabeth a new language.
Clean my house to where it doesn't quite look like a toy store threw up in the living room.
Finally update all the websites that I've been putting off.
Sleep some more.

Stick my fingers in hot wax.
Let the wax dry.
Peel it off.
Pour glue all over my hands.
Let it dry.
Peel it off.
Shove a hot poker into my...............fireplace. What did you thinks I was going to say?

go on vacation (I am on Monday)
lay out in the sun
sit at Barnes and Noble
read

oh! and stick a red hot poker in my eye.

i think mine are pretty similar to the ones that have been posted before me:
- sleep in
- catch up on my blog reading
- travel

but to be honest, i don't really mind my job -- it's the commute to and from that i don't like. if my office was right down the street, or if i could telecommute everyday, i'd be a happy camper!

I'd still have to come to work---I'd miss everything if I was by myself all day! 3 days a week would be nice.....

So many thngs would fall into this category....

Sleep late.
Snuggle with my honey in bed (with all its benefits).
Go for a late breakfast.
Go to a movie or rent a movie.
Start reading one of the 9,000 books I keep buying.
Go for a long car/bike ride.
Snuggle in a hammock.
Sketch. Paint.
Go canoeing.
Go on a romantic picnic.
Go on a day trip to a new place.

Spend more time with my wife
Read a lot more
Drive somewhere nice (anytime but rush hour)
Go Fishing – a lot!
Learn to fly (in a plane – not the other way)
Clean my basement (oops that is almost like work – scratch that idea)
Think about cleaning my basement (that’s much better)
Go back to school and get my second, third, and/or fourth degree
Decide what I want to be when I grow up

I would:
-Learn Illustrator, AfterEffects, Flash, Maya, and all those other programs out there.
-Play my guitar, a lot.
-Play with my kids.
-Play with my wife.
-Read.
-Write a novel.
-Ride my bike.
-Swim.
-Work out.
-A lot of other stuff.
