My wife is incredible. She is, in fact, a model of efficiency. You may recall that she and I struck up a bargain where she decides what we are going to have for dinner and I, in turn, will cook it. Cool! Well, in her own inimitable way, she has come up with a spreadsheet that lists:
• What the name of the meal is
• What side dishes will be part of the meal
• What needs to be taken out of the freezer for the meal
• What ingredients are needed to be bought fresh and
• What cookbook the recipe comes from
And she has our meals figured out up through August 11th! No, I’m not kidding! August the freakin’ eleventh! How awesome is that? And so far it’s working out great! Less stress for me and home-cooked meals every night. Plus leftovers for lunches! Awesome
So here’s to you, honey. We’ll call that a job well done!
Does she give lessons? I'd like to send Don over. Oh that's right, he doesn't like to think about meals till he's hungry. How much help is that?
Posted by: cassie-b at July 12, 2004 04:26 PMMaybe she could start a meal-planning business. I know that my wife and I could never plan that far in advance, let alone til the end of the weak.
Posted by: Mike at July 12, 2004 04:30 PMSorry for my late input but could you change this Friday to wings and beer? Thanks!
Posted by: Billy Bob at July 12, 2004 04:44 PMOk - You have to post the spreadsheet now! Some of us (read, me!) could really benefit from such wisdom!
Posted by: Raych at July 12, 2004 05:27 PMWHEW!! SHE ROCKS!!! Um I need help with organization and I need help with the cooking. Y'all could come and we would have us a grand time!!
Posted by: Hula Doula at July 12, 2004 05:51 PMNice!
I Love the left over lunches for work.
Can I come over for dinner?
Posted by: JenBen at July 12, 2004 06:46 PMYou two make me sick.
(Just kidding, but kinda not. ;-)
I'm certainly impressed! [I'm also happy your blog page has been returned to active status by your webhost.]
~is there a store I can go to that sells models of efficiency such as this?...just for the cooking part...oh, and the planning part as well~
Posted by: btezra at July 12, 2004 07:34 PMI'm sort of in a tizzy right now - I can't seem to find the black soybeans we need!! Yikes!!
*hurries off to make a quick order online*
Posted by: Empress at July 12, 2004 08:09 PMWhat a great team! Do you make doggie bags to go? (please?)
Posted by: debby at July 12, 2004 08:27 PMWow. I am impressed. I still don't know what we're having for dinner TONITE, and the official dinner time was an hour and a half ago. I think I need help.
Posted by: Chelle at July 12, 2004 08:34 PMWish Randy would strike up a bargain like that with me.
Posted by: emily at July 12, 2004 09:37 PMBuzzie is a friend
Yeah, I know he’s been
a good friend of mine
But lately something’s changed
that ain’t hard to define
Buzzie's got himself a girl
and I wanna make her mine
And she’s watchin’ him with those eyes
And she’s makin' those dinner spreadsheets,
I just know it
And he’s holding her in his arms late, late at night
You know I wish that I had Buzzie's girl
I wish that I had Buzzie's girl
Where can I find a woman like that ??
I had a feeling Rick Springfield would like my spreadsheets... I've seen his work! Hell - I was inspired by his work when I was fantasy football co-commissioner!
Posted by: Empress at July 13, 2004 07:23 AMDamn. I am impressed. I do that for two weeks at a time....but you're good through August 11th? W.O.W.
Great job!
Posted by: Vickie at July 14, 2004 01:43 PMCan I get a copy of those spreadsheets? Thanks. ;)
