Knowing your limitations

After a couple of hours swearing and spitting and pouting and crying, I finally got my computer fixed (cross your fingers for me, won't you?)!! This was almost beyond my capabilities. Almost.

And it got me a-thinking that a man should know his limitations. And I think I do. So, to prove that point, I am offering a visual display of things that I feel I can and cannot do.

First the 'cannot'.

I cannot do this:

And I cannot do either of these things:

I can't even do this!

And I can't even figure out how ANYONE can do this!! Are her legs even attached properly??

Now, with an hour or so of stretching I MIGHT be able to do this:

Or maybe even this:

But really, when it gets down to it, I'm really more of a sports watcher. And not a particularly active watcher at that. In fact, this is about as active as I like to get.

LOL ... Can you believe that once upon a time I could do those things?

I am old now though.

Hey - that first picture is of me when I injured myself! You promised you wouldn't show that!!

Yeahhhh, I'm just glad you got your 'puter fixed. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

And the next beer is on me.

Aww come on... let's see you do a split.

I can't do those first ones but I'm not sure I'd even want to . They look kind of--freaky.

Dude! Do you know where that finger has been?!

Posted by: JJJB at June 9, 2004 07:24 AM

It must be really bad to be deformed like these girls, and the girl with the orange ball must have been falling really fast, but what's with the balls?

Posted by: Rockchild at June 9, 2004 08:57 AM

Oh lordy! Thanks for the laugh Buzz- I needed it.

Posted by: Chubby Momma at June 9, 2004 09:53 AM

Don't you do computer support? Cleaning out the pop-up virus problem shouldn't have been that bad, just a pain in the ass and time wasting.

I saw the first picture the other day and asked the wife if she could work on that position, but she said I would dead before I ever go to see her do it.

As like you. I have about as much flexibility as Homer and sometimes its a lot of work doing those 12 oz curls, but oh so worth it.

Posted by: Tom at June 9, 2004 10:30 AM

The big question is how you figure out that you can do those things? Or even worse, what happens to those people who try to figure out if they can, and it turns out that they can't?

Oh snap!

SO THAT'S HOW YOU AND EMPRESS HAVE BEEN GETTING HURT ! ! I wasn't really sure I believed all that yardwork/slippery floor crappolla. When are you guys gonna get it through your heads that you're just not that young anymore ? Leave all of that stuff to the young-uns, and be more like Homer. Your joints'll thank you for it.

Heck, I could do #4. Get me drunk enough and I can do anything. (Not.)

GREAT post. I'm so happy about your comp getting fixed.
