Taking my meds.

Around one o'clock this afternoon I felt a few twinges in my back. I thought little of it. By two o'clock I was thinking more of it. They were no longer twinges, they were actually starting to be little spasms. Spasms of pain. By three o'clock it was affecting how I walk. Ouch. Little spasms had taken a crash course in pain and had now graduated to Great Big Spasms. It is now about five forty-five o'clock and I am officially racked. With Pain. Pain now gets it's own capitalization and is insisting that I call him Sir.

I have decided to take Pat's advice and have made my first visit to Doctor Martini. Oh, how I love Doctor Martini. He's a little shaken and apparently from Bombay. Hopefully he and nurse HeatingPad will help me get rid of this Pain that has paid me an unwelcome visit.

Meanwhile, I hope you all have a nice evening. Keep warm and go kiss a loved one. Tell 'em Buzz sent'cha!

Bottoms up!

Hey! That's roughly the same kind of painkiller I used for my injured shoulder last week.

Works like a charm.

NOOOOOOOOOOO!!! You want Nurse ColdAsIce!

Not that old biddy HeatingPad.

Trust me on this...3 months of physical therapy for a back injury taught me the miracles of ice therapy.

Say it with me, Buzzy...

You guys sure I'm supposed to take the ice out of my drink or is the ice for the drink......Now I'm confused.

Actually, 20 mins ice 20 mins heat and rinse and repeat.

Ouch! That Martini is cloudy! It has too much water in it from the ice. Never shake a Martini... always stir... with really cold ice so it's not melting too quickly. Your glass doesn't look chilled, either.

That Bond "shaken not stirred" is backwards, even compared to the Bond books. Only one movie has it right (Dr. No), it's been reversed ever since.

At least you use Bombay Saphire, and skip the "stuffed" olives.

Come over and I'll make you a Crantini. Oh wait - I'll come to you toting Aspercreme, Oceanspray, and abounding alcohol.

Doctor, Doctor! Can I get my prescription filled please? :-D

Posted by: nefarious at February 24, 2004 11:18 PM

Please tell me you have seen a real doctor for that back pain! Back pain isn't something to joke about (my dad had to have back surgery when I was 13 because his disk had slipped when we were in India...and that was over 11 years ago). I'm just being a concerned child...(the concerned daughter bit is kicking in...I know I suck :) ).

Ahhh, Doctors Orders... you gotta luv that. ;)

I've feel for ya, brother. I don't do the Martini Therapy though... I prefer the Flexeril and Oxycontin Therapy. *lol*

Alas... if I'd do the exercises I learned in my "Summer of Physical Therapy for my Stinking Back" last year with any sort of regularity, I wouldn't be having this twinge I've got going on right now. Ouch.

Have a martini with your olives...

Posted by: Lee at February 25, 2004 09:38 AM

Hope you are feeling better! Can I have an olive?

Posted by: Chelle at February 25, 2004 10:17 AM

Frac, I hear ya. Personally, I hate when people put warm ice in my drinks. ;)

Posted by: kat at February 25, 2004 11:12 AM

There ya' go!!! I know all about that kind of medicine. Back before I had all my impacted wisdom teeth removed, every once in a while they'd get so bad that I'd sit down with a six pack of Corona and another for back up and just drink til I couldn't feel my teeth anymore. ahhhh, good times. :)

Our mutual friends Glen Fiddich, Glen Livet, and Glen Morangie all come to mind. I believe at least one of them was recommended by the doctor.

got enough olives in that thing?

Posted by: Tiff at February 25, 2004 12:32 PM

Buzz, I agree with Meeta on this one. My dad let a "little" problem with his sciatic nerve slide, and we found him one morning screaming and curled up in the fetal position in the tub. (Only time I've ever seen him cry.) Doctor got him straightened out (literally) and gave him exercises to strengthen his back. He hasn't missed a day of those exercises in over 20 years.
