Buzz for sale

Seems that a hair (yes, a single hair) of John Lennon's is being auctioned off for around $1250. Wow. That seems unbelievable to me, but it got me a-thinkin'. Now, I'm no John Lennon but maybe I could make a little money myself. Here's what I'm selling so far:

• Single strand of hair - 1 dollar (sadly, only 42 available)
• Clipped fingernail - 30 cents (maybe 35, depending on size)
• A little bit of that stuff from the corner of my early morning eyes - 31 dollars (rare)
• Bellybutton lint - 200 dollars per clump sorry - SOLD OUT

If there are any other Bits o' Buzz that you would be interested in, please contact my agent. Oh, and a word to you winners - NO CLONING! I'm serious this time!

GERONA, Spain (AFP) - A hair of Beatles legend John Lennon is set to fetch at least 1,000 euros (1,250 dollars) at a Spanish auction on March 7, organisers of the sale said.

Organisers of the XIIth record collecters' auction in the Catalan town of Gerona in northeastern Spain said they had fixed a reserve price of 1,000 euros for the single hair of singer, assassinated in New York in 1980.

They added that Lennon had donated the hair, which comes complete with a certificate of authenticity, in August 1964 during a visit to Denver in the United States.

Instead of Mini Me, someone could clone a Buzz from the bellybutton lint and call it Fuzzy Buzzy. Oh sure it sounds cute, but people thought Jurassic Park was a good idea too. Be afraid! Be very afraid.

How do they know it really is John Lennon's hair? How about those nose hairs you were torturing yourself with a few weeks back!

How much for an eyelid? Don't ask, I just need one. Also, I'll pay extra if you overnight it; I'm in a hurry.

I'm so disappointed that the lint is gone. Oh well. What about toenails?

What's the cost of nose hair these days?

And you failed to mention the ever-elusive and most rare silver back hairs. If you're not gonna sell 'em, I've got a bundle I'm willing to let go at a bargain rate.

I've never really understood the impulse to purchase celebrity detritus. Why would I pay for something I routinely sweep up and bung in the trash?
