Aragorn's got nothing on us!

Yesterday we went to the mall. Today we went to Costco.

Is there no end to our bravery?

Do you have one of those Costco/Sam's Club type membership clubs near you? Everything is freakin' HUGE! We bought a bag of pancake mix today that actually came with two large men to help carry it about! I think it's a lifetime supply of pancake mix! I wanted to pick up some rice. All they had was 50 pound bags of it. 50 POUNDS! Who the heck buys 50 pounds of rice? And don't even get me started on the flour!

So anyway, we're back and now we are looking forward to going Christmas tree shopping tomorrow.

I'm starting to long to go back to work!

I once had a huuuge bag of rice in an apartment I used to reside in. One day, I noticed these tiny ant-like bugs in my kitchen and my cabinets; I thought they were ants so I bought some of those ant motel things. Unfortunately, the problem just kept getting worse. I moved out of the apartment shortly after that (with my parents assistance) and they were tossing things out. They opened up the cabinet with the bag of rice in it and it was full of those bugs! Turns out they were grain beetles.

what -- you didn't buy your christmas tree there?! i hear they have great deals on the 40-footer...

We go to a Sam's. You can't get anything in a normal size there.

I love Sam's. I think it's my deep seated hatred of shopping that causes me to prefer to buy 40 pounds of whatever it is, or a bag of chocolate chips bigger than my head. The more I get, the less often I have to go! :)

P.S. I'd buy a 50 pound bag of rice, if they sold calrose rice instead of that nasty regular stuff. ;)

The last time we went to Sam's we left with a 5 lb bag of Chex mix. 2 days later it was all gone. We munched on that stuff like there was no tomorrow. And I wonder why I have a weight problem. :-P

Last year we did our Christmas shopping at Costco. Everyone got food and/or bath products and/or a toy. Yes, we buy adult friends toys. The kids like the food.

This year we didn't do it because...well..everyone still has some of what they got LAST year.

We love costcos! we go weekly! For *us* we save so much money on food and other items. Even tho we buy in bulk.

50 pounds of rice? Sounds like somebody's practicing their eating skills for Survivor...

I love Costco, but I seem to always forget 2 things... I am single and don't need bulk size ANYTHING! Secondly, they don't have bags to put your stuff in. This surprises me every time.

I love Costcos though I havent been in a while. We used to go about every other Saturday, whether we needed stuff or not, just to walk around and check stuff out. They have really good food there...we'd buy big cheesecakes mmmm...and we used to walk up and down the aisles sampling the free samples. But I don't think I'd wanna go too close to Christmas LOL

My mom goes to Sam's all the time (I don't know what a "Cotsco's" is, but I'm assuming it's like a Sam's Club). I'm the oldest of six children, so she would always shop at Sam's - buying food for eight people once a week was a lot cheaper at Sam's than at Kroger's.

As for the 50# bag of rice, Sam's also does a lot of catering to the wholesale community - like old folk's homes, schools, hospitals, restaurants and such. The fact that a regular Joe can come in a buy stuff is just a plus to them, I guess. But when we run out of stuff here at work, Sam's is an excellent place to go to get enough stuff to feed 700 people at once!

Charlotte is fortunate enough to have all of Sam's Club, Costco, and BJ's. I have memberships at Sam's and Costco, because Sam's is close to work, and Costco is close to home. As long as you avoid those places on Friday night through Monday night, it's not so bad. Tuesday through Thursday aren't nearly so bad, and lunchtime isn't as bad as after work. But I don't shop there (much).

I've only been to Sam's club and that's just an act of God to get through on a Sunday evening.

Once we get a kiddo popping out, we might start going back to get diapers. Do they have good deals there?

I love Aragorn as an outstanding character of LOTR. Do you?
