Over dinner tonight, Pat and I got to talkin' about the all-time most played albums in our lives. You know the ones. The ones you have to buy again (and maybe again) because you just plain ol' wore out the originals.
Mine were (and don't laugh):
Harry Nilsson - Nilsson Schmilsson
Carly Simon - No Secrets
Elton John - Goodbye Yellow Brick Road
ELO - Eldorado
Elton John - Don't Shoot Me, I'm Only the Piano Player
Yes - Close to the Edge (Side One - yes this was on vinyl)
How about you? Got any worn out albums laying around?
Posted by Buzz at November 21, 2003 06:36 PMCarly was definitely one of them as with Yes!
Alice Cooper - Killer
Allman Brothers - Beginnings
Crosby Stills & Nash
Carole King - Tapestry
Eagles - Desperado
What can I say. There are a jillion more in my archives. I still have them all. Remember sitting around and making tapes?
Posted by: Charlene at November 21, 2003 07:03 PMAlbums... Wow! Well, keep in mind when I had albums, I was little:
Grease Soundtrack
Olivia Newton-John
Blondie (I had a picture disk!!!)
The Go-Go's
When I was 7, I bought my first record player which was white and red checked. And my first album was Donna Summer!
Posted by: Adelle at November 21, 2003 07:24 PMI love Carly Simon. I have 3 CDs at least in my player right now of hers. My sister is at an Elton John concert tonight as a matter of fact tonight.. and the biotch didn't even invite me! I think the ones I've worn out most are
Janis Joplin - Pearl, Melissa Etheridge - Yes I Am, George Michael - Faith (shut up!), REO Speedwagon - High Infidelity, Carly Simon - No Secrets and Hotcakes, ACDC - Back in Black..
I know there's a ton more, but I'm having a brain cramp and can't think of any more
Posted by: JaxVenus at November 21, 2003 07:33 PMI gave most of my album collection to my mom, but I kept a few.
Tumbleweed Connection - Elton John
Captain Fantastic - Elton John
Bad Girls - Donna Summer
Walls and Bridges - John Lennon
This One's For You - Barry Manilow
'Round Midnight - Linda Ronstadt
Why Not Me - The Judds
I love Carly Simon too. I think she still performs. My last album of hers is "My Romance." Really good stuff.
