For Keith:
One of the greatest girl bands of all time:
Bananarama!
teased hair, oversized baggy clothes with shoulder pads. can someone please remind me wha the good part of the 80's was?
:)
Keep up the 80's stuff! I love it! Does anyone remember Loverboy, the Psychedelic Furs, Bonnie Tyler, and Flock of Seagulls? Cinderella, Warrant, Slaughter? I love 80's music. Seems like it was a more innocent time.
Posted by: ~Mel at November 11, 2003 10:51 AMHow odd for all three to have a Bad Hair Day at the same time!
Posted by: margie at November 11, 2003 10:59 AMI though "Venus was their name"....
Did you know they were original members of the obscure band "Fun Boy Three"?
Posted by: judi at November 11, 2003 11:16 AMI feel a Bananarama reunion tour coming up any day now...
Posted by: btezra at November 11, 2003 11:36 AMOk, I admit it. I'm a fan of Siobhan Fahey. I didn't listen to much Bananarama, but I was hooked on Shakespears Sister for awhile. Fahey formed that band with Marcella Detroit after she left Bananarama. Yes...some more useless information taking up space in my brain.
Posted by: john at November 11, 2003 12:06 PMI always secretly wanted to be a Bananarama member.
Posted by: Mac at November 11, 2003 12:24 PMPete, most of us WERE more innocent in the early 80's.
But, of course, in the late 70's/early 80's we were all nostalgic for the 1950s. Remember them? With the same words, too -- more innocent times...
Posted by: Sherri at November 11, 2003 12:57 PMI was their fourth member until I gave it up for blogging.
Posted by: Kathy Howe at November 11, 2003 12:58 PMMakes me think overalls!
Posted by: Tom at November 11, 2003 01:20 PMDid anyone notice that they couldn't sing for beans? I don't think a one of them could hold a tune. It might have been that, or it might have been something less conspicuous, but I truly couldn't stand that band!
Posted by: Empress at November 11, 2003 02:07 PMhmmmm...buzz have you been watching I love the 80's Strikes back on Vh1 too? Or am I the only one?
