What's that, sonny?

Did you read Michele's post yesterday about being 'over the hill'? If you didn't, please do so. It is just wonderful. Goosebumps, Michelle. Goosebumps.

Anyway, it got me a-thinking about age and blogging. Yesterday, John and I were talking about the pack of current bloggers and if we would all continue to blog into our sixties, seventies and eighties. I don't know. Seems weird, doesn't it?

Speaking of age and blogging, I am starting to notice something. I see blogs out there from teenagers, from twenty-somethings, a ton of thirty-somethings (our biggest demographic, I'm sure) and forty+somethings. The blogs from the elders (if I may be so bold) are almost always much more interesting than the blogs from the younger set. The yung'uns may think that they are cooler, but they come off as just a bit more boring. Don'tcha think?

So if you have had a birthday recently and you're feeling a little aged, rest easy. You're getting better. You're getting wiser. And more importantly, to your readers anyway, you're getting more interesting. Embrace your age.

Yours truly,
Buzz - age 43

P.S. This, obviously does not apply to the "yung'uns" on my blogroll. You guys are the exceptions.

Nah~I'd hate to be a teen again. I hated it when I was a teen~why on earth would I want to go back?

Being in my 30's (31) is much better.

auggggghhhh!!! I'm 45, practically *dead*. Quick, gimme two fingers of Macallan, and let me sip myself back to life. ;^)

Well said, Buzz...I couldn't agree more.

Dude.

as a youngin, i fully agree. i think it's because we haven't lived enough or experienced enough to truly be interesting yet. i'm 23 and i can't wait to be 31.

at least 'my people' are moving on to talking about more than how wasted they got last night or the hot piece of ass they almost had...... well, some of them have moved on. well, maybe. well, at least i've moved on!

I just turned the big 5-0 this year. But I feel like I'm still 30. My wife says I act like I'm 20, so I guess I still have some youth in me.

I'm this many *flashes a series of fingers that total to 42*. But I act like I'm this many *holds up 3 fingers*

Just turned 34. I can't believe I'm "that" old! LOL I certainly feel like things are still getting better! Well, except for the gray creeping in and I know how to take care of that.

41 isn't bad. Now if I could be this age with the body and lack of pain I had at 18, that would be very cool.

Thanks Buzz. And I do. It's always been surprising to me that people are so worried about their ages. It happens, and the alternative ain't so good

oops - i commented over at michele's, but forgot to come back here.

i've seen 42 great years myself so far, each one better than the last. well, ok there was that one year that really sucked... :)

I noticed that myself - the peeps I really enjoy are the older folks. But then again, I've always been that way, even in real life. Of course, at my age, it's getting to where if I want to hang out with older people I've got to swing by the nursing home. *lol*

Um, thanks...? ;)

My "real life" friends have always been older than me, so I guess my blogroll reflects this a little. I feel like I learn a lot from people who seem to have a level of self-awareness and confidence that I don't think I have yet (at 25 years old) and that's something I enjoy in a blog read, too.
