I walked into the bathroom at the break of dawn this morning. I, like most of you probably, have somewhat of a routine. You gotta pee, shower, maybe shave, brush your teeth, etc. And, if you're like me, your eyes are not quite up to snuff at this stage of the day. Well, this morning I grabbed my toothbrush and reached for the toothpaste. This is where the story twists just a bit.

Have you ever used a product called Icy Hot? It is a lot like Ben Gay and it comes in a tube extraordinarily similar in size to the brand of toothpaste that we are currently using.

The answer to your next two questions are:

1) Yes - I did pick up the Icy Hot instead of my toothpaste and

2) No - I did not brush my teeth with it.

Fortunately, I realized my error right before I squeezed it onto my toothbrush. Whew! Pat and I were talking about this event earlier today and she remarked that I would NEVER have gotten that taste out of my mouth. We figured that if I had done that, if I had actually brushed my teeth with Icy Hot, that I would have no choice but to kill myself.

My day, although not great, could have been so much worse.
