And what is that 'baby-head' smell? Is it really their heads or is it their shampoo? If I use that shampoo will women stop me on the street to smell my head? (That came out sounding quite dirty, didn't it? Unintentional, I assure you.) Do baby girl's heads smell differently than baby boy's heads? Can anyone help me out here?

Posted by: Sonia at July 3, 2003 03:55 PMToday IS your lucky day. About 3 months ago I watched a Discovery show about "why we like babies so much and why they're so cute" or something like that. Babies heads are actually covered in a sebaceous secretion which is sort of a catnip for adults. We love the stuff! That, and their little faces are incredibly symmetrical with eyes larger than normal. As this secretion ceases and their faces start growing, we no longer love them quite as much. Hence the strange yearning to have another little critter. No, really, I saw it on TV.
